MATTHEW M. FREDERICKS concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, and corporate and real estate litigation and transactions.
Mr. Fredericks is an experienced commercial litigator with significant trial and appellate experience. He handles contract and partnership disputes, commercial and residential landlord-tenant cases, collection actions and foreclosure litigation. Mr. Fredericks regularly appears in arbitration and mediation proceedings. He has broad experience in registering condominium and cooperative plans with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and handles the purchase, financing and sale of condominiums and cooperatives. Mr. Fredericks is experienced in negotiating and drafting contracts and agreements of all types, including real estate and business contracts, residential and commercial leases and licensing agreements.
Mr. Fredericks successfully argued a landmark Appellate Division case which held that a Chapter 13 debtor did not have the right to cure a default on a mortgage secured by the debtor’s principal residence during the period between the Sheriff’s sale and the delivery of the deed by the Sheriff to the third party bidder.
Mr. Fredericks is admitted to practice law in the state, appellate and federal courts of New Jersey. He received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2000 and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. He has been a Volunteer Judge for the Seton Hall University School Appellate Division Program and is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association.

Representative Matters
- Filed suit and obtained a multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of an aggrieved shareholder against a national security services corporation.
- Negotiated contract and successfully executed all details of a $10.5 Million bulk sale of 107 condominium units in six separate buildings in Jersey City, New Jersey.
- Obtained a judgment for a national corporate client in a breach of contract suit against an international textile manufacturer by way of summary judgment.
